The countdown to Christmas is underway and Humberside Police want to make sure it’s a memorable one for all the right reasons.

The force’s gift to Isle residents is a raft of useful hints, tip and information designed to help keep you, your homes and your property safe.

Today, the start of the advent period, its virtual advent calendar is being launched. To access the Yuletide calendar click here www.billysadventcalendar.co.uk

Behind each window of the calendar you will find useful messages, images and videos that are aimed at helping to keep you safe and sound throughout the holiday season.

Working with partners in the four local authorities around the force area as well as Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, the NHS, Victim Support, Crimestoppers and a number of other organisations it is hoped that the messages sent out help everyone living in the communities served to enjoy Christmas.

Alongside the calendar, a range of policing initiatives and activity will be taking place across the force area tackling crimes including burglary, shop theft, domestic violence, responsible drinking, vehicle crime, drink driving and more.

A spokesman said: “We will be talking about our campaigns and operations on Twitter and Facebook so follow us @Humberbeat and look out for the hashtag #xmascrime, like our page www.facebook.com/humberbeat or visit the Humberside Police website www.humberside.police.uk/newsmedia.”
