DONCASTER is the only place in South Yorkshire where road casualties dropped last year.

The number of road casualties during 2011 dropped by four per cent on the previous year, meaning four fewer people were killed or seriously injured.

Overall last year South Yorkshire Police saw an increase in casualties of almost eight per cent or 34 people killed or seriously injured on the roads on the roads than in the previous 12 months.
