A trio of suspects arrested in connection with a spate of armed robberies have been released on bail.
A man believed to be carrying a gun allegedly threatened staff at the Londis convenience store in Church Street, Swinton, on Saturday, January 10, at 9.05pm.
Just the day before, police said two masked raiders entered the JP & CA. Mighali convenience store in Claypit Lane, Rawmarsh, at 8.15pm and made threats to staff with a gun before making off with money. Nobody was injured.
And, a few days prior to that on Tuesday, January 6, at 8pm, police said two men wearing masks and hooded tops help up a shop worker at gunpoint at Blaney’s newsagents in Highthorn Road, Kilnhurst.
Police arrested two men, aged 34 and 28, and a woman, 32, on suspicion of robbery.
They were cuffed after police executed raids on properties in Highfield Road, Swinton, and Hawthorne Road, Wath.
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “The three people arrested have been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
