EDLINGTON: A cannabis grower has been spared the joint after being caught producing eight plants of the class B drug. John Patrick Flanagan, 42, of Staveley Street, was fined £110, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge fee and £45 in costs after pleading guilty to producing the drug. The drugs were also forfeited to the police to be destroyed.
WHEATLEY PARK: A 20-year-old has been fined £110 after being caught in possession of 18.9 grams of mephedrone. Nathan Ian John, of Oversley Road, pleaded guilty to possessing the class B drug in Doncaster on April 17. He was also ordered to pay £45 costs and a £15 victim surcharge fee. The drugs were confiscated by the police.
THORNE: A boxer short thief was caught stealing two pairs of pants. Greg Michael Steward, 23, admitted taking the two pairs of Henley boxer shorts, costing £24, from the Original Factory Store on June 17. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and a £45 fine.
TOWN CENTRE: A thief who took £5.78 of cider and canned fish has been given a conditional discharge for six months. Matthew Maly Cole, 29, of School Court, was not told to pay costs as he has debts. He admitted theft.
