DETECTIVES are trying to trace this man in connection with the theft of a suitcase from a train as it called at Doncaster station.

They would like to speak to the man about the theft, which happened at about on board the 17.03 Kings Cross to Leeds East Coast Trains service.

The victim, a 40-year-old woman from Bradford, left her suitcase in the luggage rack in Coach F whilst travelling from Peterborough to Leeds.

On arrival at Leeds she noticed that the case - a black trolley case containing the victim’s passport, laptop, clothes and other personal documents, including academic certificates – had been taken.

PC Sam Bloomfield, investigating for British Transport Police, said: “The case contained a number of sentimental and irreplaceable items. The victim is extremely distressed following this theft.

He added: “I would like to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured, or who has any information about the theft on July 7.
