Crews fight farm blaze

Fire crews spent almost three hours putting out a blaze at a farm over the weekend.

A large quantity of dead branches and wood chippings caught fire accidentally at Siddall’s Farm in Common Lane, Conisbrough, in the early hours of Saturday.

A digger was used to break up the fire in the chips and crews stopped flames spreading to buildings.

* A shed was wrecked by a fire which is believed to have been caused deliberately during the early hours of Monday. Firefighters from Cudworth fire station were alerted to the blaze in Raven Royd, Athersley North, Barnsley.
