SUSPECTED rail cable thieves are being targeted today as part of a 24-hour police crackdown.
British Transport Police officers want to visit premises and hot-spot areas as part of the crime blitz which is taking place on a national level.
Their aim is to strike as fast as possible to shatter any supply chain that has been helping the theft problem persist.
Doncaster railway station has been struck by the crime.
Cable crooks have also targeted areas across the borough including Lindholme, Hatfield and Stainforth leaving residents feeling isolated without phonelines.
