A ROOFER is preparing to take on a gruelling ten kilometre assault course in aid of the children’s ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Michael Pearson, of Green Lane, Askern, is hoping to raise £1,000 by taking part in the Wild Thing challenge in September, which has been designed by the British Special Forces and Royal Marines.

The course will see Michael trudge through mud and quick sand pits, climbing walls and ropes and crawling through damp and dark tunnels as part of the 40 obstacle challenge.
