RESIDENTS are being reminded about council policy when putting their bins out for collection.

Doncaster Council has written to people living in the Instoneville area of Askern saying residents could face fixed penalty notices if they put additional bags of rubbish out or overfill their bin.

It comes after the authority said residents were putting too much refuse out for collection in the area.

The letter says bags put out next to bins or bins on which the lid cannot be closed will not be collected. Bins should be put out on the day of collection and taken back before noon the day after.
