Copper thieves disrupt village homes

OVEr 100 homes have been left without power today after thieves stole copper from a Doncaster village.

Engineers from Northern Electricity Distribution Limited (NEDL) were called to fix the damage in Norton just before 3.45am.

The theft had affected 16 customers. A further 95 homes were later disrupted as power supplies had to be shut off for work to take place.

A spokesman for NEDL said it was hoped power would be restored by 11am today and apologised for the inconvenience.
