Conisbrough Christmas Market will bring a host of festive activities and goodies to the village centre this weekend.

From 10am until 4pm on Saturday, Church Street will be closed to traffic for everyone to enjoy the market in safety.

There will be a range of market stalls selling paintings, handbags, clothing, slate products, books, baby clothes, toys, gift wrap and cards, there will be hot and cold festive food available, crafts and a Santa’s Grotto in the car park of St Peter’s Church.

There will also be live music from A Shaw Thing, who will be performing their Christmas single ‘Christmas Shopping’, at 11am and 2pm.

The Alma pub is also joining in the fun this year with a schedule of live music planned from when the market closes and into the night.

St Peter’s Church and Conisbrough Community Library are also hosting their popular Christmas fairs to complement the main event.

Penny Lloyd-Rees, director of event organisers Conisbrough Forward, said: “Look out for raffle ticket sellers who will be using the raffle money to help pay for Christmas Lights for Conisbrough centre – show your support by buying a ticket if you would like to see Christmas Street Lights next year - you could be a lucky winner of a meal out in one of Conisbrough’s great restaurants, pubs or cafes. Whatever you have planned in the run up to Christmas, make sure you don’t miss out on a great day out.”
