Congestion busting work starts on A630

Motorists advised of delays ahead of improvements scheme

WORK to ease congestion along one of Doncaster's busiest routes is to get underway.

Motorists are being advised of delays as the first phase to create improvements along Balby Road, which is used by around 44,000 motorists a day, is completed.

Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) have joined forces for the A630 Smart Route project, which will include a priority bus lane in Balby.

Mayor Peter Davies, said: "These much needed improvements along the A630 Balby Road will ease congestion, reducing journey times for residents and commuters into the town centre.
