Community centre lines up festive fun

Decorations on a real Christmas tree.

Decorations on a real Christmas tree.

Conisbrough’s Elm Green Lane Community Centre is to stay open right over Christmas and New year to keep a festive welcome for OAPs in the area.

The centre will host festive activities over the forthcoming weeks, including a Christmas fair at the centre on Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Attractions will include bric-a-brac, cake stalls, a tombola and bingo.

The centre is holding a Christmas party on Saturday, December 15, from 1pm to 4pm, with a traditional carol sing song, bingo and a raffle.

Members have their over 60s Christmas dinner on December 13. The timetable for the rest of December follows the usual timetable at the centre, with snooker Monday and Wednesday and Thursday mornings and Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Tuesday mornings are keep fit dancing and sewing.
