BRAVE young recruits have shown their commitment to the army by taking their oath.

A number of young men and women were invited to the special presentation at the Mansion House where the recruits took the Oath of Allegiance and had an attestation ceremony to celebrate completing a 22-week army preparation course.

Seven of the recruits are going to the Harrogate Army Foundation College, which caters for junior soldiers, and one is going to the Infantry Training Centre at Catterick for a 28-week programme.

All of the recruits, who were part of the NACRO army Doncaster Foundation Learning Programme, will begin in March.
