A FESTIVE feel came to Owston Ferry last week when a fundraising coffee morning in aid of the village’s Christmas tree and lights was held.
Committee chairman Diane Ekins said the event went “really well” and raised £275.
Fundraising has taken place for the Yuletide decorations for some 30 years now, she explained, adding: “We constantly have new decorations and lights, we need to keep up with legislation.
“Every year we have Father Christmas visit and the children can write a letter to him and they will receive one back so it’s very important they put their names and addresses on their letters.”
This year’s Christmas lights switch on takes place on Saturday December 8 from 7pm.
