GAINSBOROUGH Choral Society, a choir of ninety-plus members including many from the Isle, has just completed a very successful 150th season. However, it is very short of tenors and basses.
The society produces three concerts each season, and there are no voice trials, sight-reading is not essential and all that is asked is a high level of commitment to rehearsals and performances.
“Our rehearsals are educational and fun,” said secretary Deirdre Speed. “Singing has been shown to have a very positive effect on wellbeing and is a very social activity.”
Rehearsals are held weekly (7.30–9.15pm) from September to March at Queen Elizabeth’s High School in Gainsborough, starting on Thursday September 8.
