children embraced the jubilee spirit from their hospital beds after a ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary was transformed into a garden fete.

The play and activity leaders and the hospital school teachers helped the children to bake cup cakes and make crowns for the fete.

The children also made lots of colourful bunting, and created a street scene with blossom trees especially for the occasion.

Children’s entertainer John Martin, from POD, a charity for entertaining children in hospital, captivated the children with magic tricks and Jack the Puppet.

The children tucked into a delicious picnic, donated by Sprotbrough River Boat, and followed by many jubilee themed games.
