A LONG-serving children’s centre is to mark its tenth anniversary.
Staff at the Askern Children’s Centre are celebrating the occasion with an open afternoon of action-packed activities for families who use the facility.
It will also be a fitting day for Pam Ley, the centre’s manager, who will be leaving having worked there since its inception as well as Jayne Mundy, the health promotion and engagement team leader who have been there since 2003.
Both are moving into different roles for the Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation (RDaSH) within children’s community health services.
Chris Boswell, chief executive for RDaSH, will also be joining in the celebrations at the centre in Spa Pool Road which kick-off at 2pm today.
Susan Davies, deputy manager, said: “We’re looking forward to having a fun afternoon both looking back over our achievements of the past ten years and forward to an exciting future.
“We’ll be very sad to say farewell to Pam and Jayne, who have both being tremendously committed to the children’s centre for many years and have helped many, many families in the Askern area.”
