Model Charlotte Lister is bidding for glory in her first ever beauty contest.
Charlotte, aged 25, from Bentley, is going head to head with scores of other girls from across the region in the Miss British Empire contest - and is hoping people in her home town will back her bid to land top spot.
The mum-of-one is busily collecting votes on Facebook in the hope of being crowned winner at the regional final for the north east on July 27.
She said: “I saw something about the contest on Twitter and decided to go for it. I am hoping to win to do Doncaster proud.”
Charlotte, mum to Evie, aged two, is the only Doncaster girl taking part in the competition which encourages participants to fundraise for charity ahead of the final. And she is determined to do her bit, hosting a fundraising fashion show this Sunday at Manana Manana in Priory Walk.
The show gets under way at 7pm with tickets priced £5 on the door with four local boutiques taking part in aid of anti-bullying charity Bullies Out.
When she takes part in the final, Charlotte will have to tackle four rounds - casual, clubwear, formal and swimwear - and will be hoping to land a place at the national finals in London later this year and possibly Greece for the world title.
She said: “I am really excited. I can’t wait.”
