In December, Margaret and Brian Johnson from Misterton held a charity night in aid of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the Gynaecology Family Room.

To help raise funds, they held a disco, and a local band, Triple XXX, and three local belly dancers took part, collecting cash in buckets as they danced.

All performers gave their services free of charge for the charities.

At the end of the evening, a raffle was held.

The 20 prizes up for grabs were donated by businesses from the Misterton area.

Margaret and Brian said: “Our thanks go to all who supported us, especially Misterton Sports Social Club for providing the venue, and giving a contribution to the total raised.”

The total amount was £300, which meant £150 went to each charity.

The existing Family Room is in need of refurbishment so that the families of patients can have a more comfortable stay when visiting.

By fundraising, their aim is to upgrade the bathroom, provide a kitchen area, redecorate, and provide seating that is more comfortable.
