Charity funds continue to grow

a CAMPAIGN to eradicate polio has been given blooming good support by pupils planting flowers.

The Rotary Clubs of Doncaster St Leger helped to raise more than £1 million when members linked up with schools and hundreds of people planted reminders for ‘Thanks for Life’ in the form of purple crocus bulbs.

Several Doncaster schools took part including green fingered children at Tickhill St Mary’s School.

Jim Moulson, of Rotarian International Britain and Ireland, said: “Anyone who has contributed funds will be able to say: “I helped to eradicate a disease completely for only the second time in history, after smallpox.”
