AN intrepid team are celebrating after completing a 220 mile charity cycle challenge in memory of a teenager who died suddenly.
The race that raised £5,000 with more money still coming in, saw the team cycle from Southport to Hornsea over four days in memory of Amy Kirkby who died in September last year aged just 15.
As well as raising money for the Amy Kirkby Memorial Fund cash will also go to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Doncaster Royal Infirmary’s neo-natal unit, Rotherham Acro club and Cancer Research.
Amy died after collapsing in the shower at her home in Brompton Road, Sprotbrough.
The cause of the former Ridgewood School pupil’s death is still not known after a post-mortem examination failed to establish how she died.
