GIRLS flocked to a village dress shop to jump into the latest colourful prom and bridal creations for a charity fashion show.

Covering themselves in ‘bling’, top-of-the-range tiaras and glittering gowns from dress shop It’s Bliss, the models took to the catwalk yesterday in aid of a hospice.

As excitement gathers apace in the run-up to the popular school prom season, the shop held rehearsals for the show at its base in York Road, Scawsby.

Some of its colourful range was later on display at the show inside Retford Town Hall which was held to raise money for the town’s hospice.

Paula Coates, It’s Bliss owner, said the girls could not wait to get into their show-stopping outfits.

The 46-year-old said: “Everybody was so excited about the fashion show, we love to be a part of something in the community and with us also having a shop in Retford this was perfect for us.

“Trade is really good at this time of year because the girls are wanting to make sure they have their dresses ready for their prom.

“The must-haves we’ve noticed that seem to be the most popular choice is the American-themed style ball gown. They want big, big dresses like Cinderella and they want it to be traditional.”
