YOUNGSTERS are being given the chance to follow in the footsteps of Doncaster’s civic mayor .
Doncaster Council will name one lucky child as the junior civic mayor and they will get to wear their own mayoral robes and chains.
Entrants must tell judges what they would do if they were mayor for the day, and what they would change about Doncaster, in 300 words.
The winner will attend a series of civic functions, including the Christmas Carol Concert at Doncaster Minster and switching on the Mexborough Christmas lights, alongside civic mayor Coun Eva Hughes.
Tomorrow is the closing date for entries which can be submitted at www.doncaster.gov.uk.
