KIDS of steel will show their mettle in a triathlon series that returns to South Yorkshire on July 11.
The Tata Steel event will give hundreds of youngsters the chance to try a multi-discipline sport in the same month as the 2012 Olympic Games.
To be staged free of charge at Maltby Leisure Centre, the event is one of 24 mini-triathlons in the UK this year, making the Tata Kids of Steel series the biggest event of its kind across the country.
Mick Hood, HR director for Tata Steel’s speciality steels business at Parkgate, Rotherham, said: “We are thrilled that Tata Kids of Steel is returning to South Yorkshire.
“Hundreds of children took part in the first event last year, and we are hoping to build on that success this year.
“The Tata Kids of Steel triathlon is a great way of introducing youngsters to a new sport and opening their eyes to the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.”
