THIS was the scene of devastation left after a huge blaze ripped through a former South Yorkshire fire station.
Investigators are still trying to find out how the fire at Brampton Bierlow station started.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said inquiries into the cause of the blaze were still ongoing.
Around 30 firefighters were called out to help to tackle the fire in Knollbeck Lane, Brampton.
Crews were called to the building at around 2.45pm on Monday and were still at the scene at midnight
Fire engines from Dearne, Barnsley, Elm Lane, Edlington and Rotherham fire stations attended the incident and an aerial ladder platform was also mobilised to help tackle the blaze.
Fire officers worked alongside officers from South Yorkshire Police and other local agencies to ensure the safety of residents living close to the scene of the incident.
They were advised to stay indoors and keep doors and windows shut.
Brampton Bierlow fire station closed last June and was sold to developers in May.
