A TOWN council has boosted funds to refurbish a family room at the borough’s hospital.

Plans are in place to update the room based in Doncaster Royal’s Infirmary’s Ward G5, the gynaecology unit, by upgrading the bathroom, putting in a kitchen area and seating.

They also want to redecorate in a bid to make it a comfortable area for families of patients.

Staff at the unit were delighted when they received £100 from Edlington Town Council following their appeal for funding help.

The town’s mayor Coun Maureen Patterson requested that a donation be made to the unit which her fellow council members agreed unanimously.
