FIREFIGHTERS were called to Robin Hood Airport last night after a parked car caught fire and the flames spread to other vehicles.

Crews from Doncaster spent an hour putting out the blaze at the Finningley site which started in a Ford Focus.

The flames quickly spread to a Corsa and Peugeot causing severe damage to all of the vehicles parked in Zone F of the airport’s car park, a fire spokesman said.

An Astra and Landrover were also heat damaged, however nobody was hurt.

The spokesman said the incident, which happened around 8pm yesterday, was accidental.
