A car was dumped and set alight after being stolen and then used in a wrecking spree.

The Ford Focus was torched by its occupants after being taken from a property in Stainforth last night.

The vehicle was involved in collisions with four parked vehicles on Sheep Dip Lane, Dunscroft, in the early hours before being driven back to Stainforth where it was dumped on Gordon Square off East Lane and then set on fire.

Crews from Thorne Fire Station attended the scene where police were already in attendance.

The vehicle was totally destroyed in the incident at about 3.30am this morning.
