A new wooden cross was presented to an Isle school at a Candlemas celebration.
Children from Westwoodside Church of England Academy celebrated Candlemas with a service in school.
An academy spokeswoman said: “The children reflected on the story of Jesus being presented in the temple by Mary and Joseph. Pupils brought candles to school which were lit as part of the service.”
A new wooden cross was presented by Haxey’s St Nicholas’ Church to the school, to be used on the worship table.
Pupils also received candles to take back to reflective areas in their classrooms.
