EVERY patient sent to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with suspected breast cancer was seen within two weeks, according to latest figures.

The Department of Health has revealed that between October and November last year, 580 people were referred to Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Trust and sent to a specialist within a fortnight, as were all three of the patients suspected of having testicular cancer.

Of all 2,260 patients seeking treatment for suspected cancer at the trust’s hospitals 95.8 per cent were seen by a specialist within two weeks and just four had to wait longer than 28 days before getting an appointment according to the figures.
