ROAD safety campaigners are urging people to buckle up whenever they get into a vehicle.

A campaign has been launched by the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership reminding drivers and passengers to ‘Save Yourself – Stay alive, always wear your seatbelt’.

The campaign also highlights the dangers of using a mobile phone when driving, which figures show can drop your concentration by 30 per cent.

Superintendent Eddie Murphy said: “Whether you’re in your own car, driving with a friend or a passenger in a taxi it is vital that you wear your seatbelt.”
