University project helps bring out the best in businesses

Doncaster Chamber has teamed up with a university to help businesses in the borough unlock their potential.

Sheffield Hallam University delivered the latest Doncaster Chamber Hour Well Spent session on ‘Accessing the University and Funded Innovation Programmes’.

The event, held at Doncaster Racecourse, saw 16 businesses meet to discover more about how their business could develop through innovation and what regional and national programmes are available to support business growth by providing access to new skills, expertise and funding.

Alison Money, Business Gateway Manager Sheffield Hallam University said: “It was great to network with Doncaster businesses, there was a keen interest in the subject and our presentation let to interesting opportunities to help those who attended with their innovation and growth plans”

Simon Dishman, Policy and Information Officer at Doncaster Chamber added: “This event shows that businesses in Doncaster have the desire to innovate in order to grow their business.

“Additionally, it demonstrates that with world-leading academic institutional support from Sheffield Hallam University, businesses have every chance of enabling their business to thrive through successful innovation”

Doncaster Chamber’s ‘Hour Well Spent’ sessions are a monthly event focussed on supporting businesses with specific areas of expertise from social media support, HR and legal advice and funding opportunities.
