Crowle was alight with colour as the monthly market saw the circus also come to town.
The event was the launch of the new summer entertainment programme and included a daring fire display, juggling and plate spinning among the attractions.
Entertainment was provided by professional artistes Party Workshop who got young and old alike to take part in the events, culminating with their very own display which astounded the crowds.
Secretary of the, not-for-profit, Crowle and Ealand Charter Group, Andrew Singleton, which organises the markets said: “It was a brilliant day, there were lots of children there enjoying the attractions, playing while their parents shopped, having lots of fun.
“There was a good show with live fire and it was really well received.
“It was great to see lots of people in the market place having a chat and buying goods from the stalls. It was a good family friendly event.”
He added: “We had the circus last year but this year was even better, we had the weather this time.
“We’ve got a packed programmes of events coming up, the next is a live animal show on Saturday May 10, there will be music at future markets.
“I’m really excited by the programme, it’s turning the market into a real event.”
The markets are held the second Saturday of each month and include a vast range of stalls selling produce including crafts, bread, locally brewed ale, pies, fish, plants, fruit and vegetables, and more.
Group chairman Jack Bower added that the popularity of the markets has been growing so much that they recently had to purchase more stalls to cope with the increased number of traders.
He said: “We hope the packed programme of events will also encourage new visitors to the market so they can see for themselves some of the great products available such as fresh fish, homemade pies, cakes, plants, crafts, real ale and the award winning artisan bakery.”
Saturday’s event also included an egg decorating contest for the children with some great Easter themed prizes up for grabs.
The next market takes place on Saturday May 10 from 9am in the town’s Market Place.
Mr Singleton added: “We were really pleased to see so many people shopping at the stalls, chatting with friends while enjoying the circus entertainment.
“The day was a massive success and we hope the other events we have planned for the rest of the summer will be just as popular, such as live animal show in May.”
