Business leaders are hoping to turn a £50 investment into a donation worth thousands of pounds for charity at a fundraising race night.
Networking group The Lyons Den is hosting the fun evening at Owlerton Greyhound Stadium on Tuesday, July 14, in aid of the Master Cutler’s Challenge.
The Challenge asks businesses to try and raise as much money as possibly from an initial £50 investment.
The Lyons Den has so far raised £18, 500 through taking part in the challenge over the past five years.
Staff are hoping to break the £20, 000 mark by raising at least £1500 on the night in aid of The Brathay Trust, which works to provide personal and social development opportunities for young people.
Alan Lyons, investment manager at Creative Sheffield and co-founder of the Lyons Den, said: “We are proud to be associated once more with the Master Cutler’s Challenge.
“There is a fantastic support from the Den members for the evening, races have all been kindly sponsored by member businesses and demand for tickets has been fantastic.”
The evening takes place in the Panorama Restaurant and doors open from 6pm. There will be a three course meal served from 7.30pm and 14 races to enjoy. Dress code is smart casual.
Tickets are £25 each and must be booked by 5pm on Wednesday, July 8. To book call the stadium on 0114 234 3074 and quote booking reference GO125358. Email Alan Lyons at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
The Master Cutler’s Challenge raised more than £100, 000 in 2014.
