Time is running out for members of the public to nominate their business heroes to win a gong at the annual Doncaster Business Awards.

Nominations for the categories close on Friday, September 18, at 5pm.

The Origin Broadband-sponsored awards, which are run by Doncaster Chamber and counts the Doncaster Free Press as official media partner, are now in their 17th year.

Last year’s event saw 830 guests attend the award ceremony, making it the largest business awards in Yorkshire.

Dan Fell, chief executive officer for the chamber, said: “Entering the awards provides a great opportunity for businesses to raise their profile and generate some excellent PR.

“Many previous winners and finalists have achieved increased sales as a result of the awards whereas others find that the judging process provides a valuable critical insight to their business strategy and performance.

“Doncaster is home to outstanding businesses and I strongly urge companies to use this opportunity to be recognised for their business achievements.”

This year sees 15 award categories as follows: Lifetime Achievement Award, Excellence in Customer Service, Excellence in Marketing and Communications, Excellence in Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility, Excellence in Overseas Trade, Excellence in People Development and Training, Success Through Partnership Working, Success Through Diversification and Innovation, Businessperson of the Year (35 and under), Businessperson of the Year (36 and over), Business Start Up of the Year, Third Sector Business or Organisation of the Year, Small and Medium and Large Businesses of the Year.

All businesses who are Doncaster Chamber members or who have a Doncaster (DN) postcode are eligible to enter. To enter visit www.doncaster-chamber.co.uk and complete the relevant application forms.

Finalists will be revealed in October, with winners and runners up announced at the awards ceremony itself on December 10 at Doncaster Racecourse.

Tickets are available now via www.doncaster-chamber.co.uk or by calling 01302 640100.
