South Yorkshire-based Boxes and Packaging Ltd has expanded it’s operation and leased a new industrial unit.
The firm, which has been based at it’s current home at Shaw Lane Industrial Estate in Edenthorpe, Doncaster, for nearly 40 years, has taken on a 52, 160 sq ft unit at Thorne Park on a 10 year lease.
The company will be operational from the site when landlord works are completed, which is due at the end of September.
Stacey Austin, managing director of Boxes and Packaging Ltd, said: “We made the decision to expand our Doncaster operations to Thorne Park due to its excellent location and access to the UK motorway networks.
“It will allow us to increase our production capabilities, enjoy increased logistical efficiencies and drive further growth for our company and for the local economy.
The company supplies a range of customers with the design and manufacture of corrugated packaging solutions and in-house printing, along with ancillary packaging products.
It is part of a UK network with 12 further manufacturing operations in the group, including in Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
Henry Boot Developments secured a £6.45 million grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to enable the delivery of the final phase of Thorne Park. The site has more than 150,000 sq ft of industrial units available, which are due for completion in the autumn.
Tim Burn, project manager for Henry Boot Developments Ltd, said: “We aim to offer the highest quality operational accommodation and we believe Thorne Park provides this. There is already significant interest in the other new units.”
