DEVERLOPERS behind multi-million pound plans to breathe new life into the former Earth Centre are recruiting apprentices for the project.
Kingswood has started work on transforming the doomed visitor attraction into an education facility which it is hoped will attract pupils from across the country.
The firm is now taking on young people to work on its Dearne Valley Centre development near Conisbrough and is offering a number of 12 month appreenticeships.
A Kingswood spokesman said: “The Dearne Valley Centre will be bringing jobs and investment to the Dearne Valley along with educational opportunity for schools in Dearne, Doncaster, Sheffield and beyond to enjoy the best of Yorkshire’s outdoor activities.”
Kingswood is also recruiting for a housekeeper and catering manager to join its new team in March 2012.
The recruitment drive will take off this month and continue through the end of 2011 and on to early 2012. There are a range of vacancies and opportunities from apprenticeships to broaden experience and start people on the right track to a career in the education or leisure industry, to jobs to stimulate the local economy and providing work for local people.
Meanwhile, construction work is making good progress after a mild November and six accommodation units being built will be named after collieries, Denaby Main, Cadeby, Manvers, Barnburgh, Wath and Yorkshire Main.
