The Mayor and business leaders from the British and Doncaster Chambers of Commerce visited an iconic Yorkshire business to see first-hand its pioneering manufacturing processes and innovative vision as it reports a 25 percent increase in export sales.

Pegler Yorkshire, which has operated from its Belmont Works in Doncaster for over 100 years, has recently invested £7 million in new stamping facilities for manufacturing components for plumbing systems, thermostatic mixing and engineering valves and has enhanced its Middle East operation to deliver greater market penetration which has contributed to its export growth.

“It is inspiring to see such an historic manufacturing business continuing to push the boundaries of innovation to ensure its continued growth,” commented Ros Jones, Mayor of Doncaster. “The management team display a vision which is inspirational and goes to show that no matter how established a business is there is always new opportunities to be sought and new developments to be made, which in turn, benefit the local community in terms of business investment and employment.”

In the last 12 months Pegler Yorkshire has also opened a state-of-the-art training facility, has launched a flagship product, Tectite Flexible Metal System, which offers increased flexibility for the plumbing industry, and has been the first business to receive the British Kitemark for its copper press-fit fittings.

“We were delighted to welcome Ros and leaders from Doncaster Chamber and give them an insight into the operations of our manufacturing facility today,” said Stuart Anderson Group Managing Director.

“We are proud to be a significant part of the Doncaster business community and will be continuing to find new ways to grow our business and secure the future of Pegler Yorkshire for another 100 years.”
