A Doncaster MP who spoke out against plans to close a village post office has welcomed news it is set to reopen - 20 metres away.
Sprotbrough Post Office, on Thorpe Lane, closed in May due to the resignation of the sub-postmaster.
Now PO bosses have confirmed to Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband that ‘a new operator has been appointed’ and have outlined plans to reinstate the service inside Sprotbrough News, also on Thorpe Lane, from 6.30am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and till 5pm on Sundays.
No opening date has been set and a six-week public consultation is underway. To comment, visit postofficeviews.co.uk and enter branch number 22231199.
