shoppers and commuters can avoid travel chaos thanks to a new Park and Ride service starting in the New year.
Stagecoach Yorkshire will operate the service from a new car park adjacent to the new Morrisons Superstore near to White Rose Way and junction three of the M18.
Buses will run non-stop from the site to the town centre and Frenchgate interchange every 15 minutes between 7am and 7pm Monday to Saturday.
The car park has 250 spaces and new bus lanes are being created in the area to help provide quick access from there to the town centre. A special introductory fare of just £1 a day per person will make it a frugal way to travel into Doncaster.
Paul Lynch, Stagecoach Yorkshire managing director, said: “We are delighted to be launching the exciting new service. We are expecting the Park and Ride to be very well used, particularly because it will be fast, frequent and great value.
“Doncaster has become increasingly popular with out of town shoppers and, with many of them not wanting to drive into the town centre, the Park and Ride will provide the ideal solution.”
The service will start on January 14.
