New firm more than fare for revellers

One of Doncaster’s leading cab companies has a tip – if you want your business to thrive, then expand.

Absolute Cabs is making the move from Copley Road to larger premises on East Laith Gate, after being in business for just six months and believes it will be the best value taxi firm in Docaster.

Owner Jann Saqlain said: “I can confidently say that we will be offering the lowest taxi fares in Doncaster – I think people will be pleasantly surprised by how competitive we are.

“For instance we charge £3 for a mile and a half journey – that’s basically the journey from Wheatley to the town centre.

“If there are two of you or more then that’s cheaper than public transport and you also get the benefit of door to door service as well.”

But Jann, who lives on Copley Road, is also aware that reliability means as much to his customers as cut price value.

“We want to be a firm you can rely on – if you’ve got to get a train or have a hospital appointment, then it’s vital that we get there when we say we will.

“You just don’t have the leeway or luxury of being a few minutes late – you’ve got to be there on time.

“You can count on us and rest assured – if we say we’ll be there at eight then we will be.”

Absolute’s new premises opens on Sunday and initially will be employing a team of 15 drivers, with more to be added soon.

Jann adds that reliable taxi services are vital to the town’s nighttime economy.

“Doncaster’s a great place to go out and have a good time,” he said. “But there’s a real need for taxis, especially at the weekend.

“People who come from out of town for a night out need to know they can get a decent cab home without too much trouble – that way they’ll return to enjoy themselves in Doncaster again.”
