A refurbished post office in Edlington, Doncaster, has been praised by local MP Caroline Flint after she visited it.

Ms Flint, MP for Don Valley, said the updated PO was ‘fantastic’ and congratulated sub-postmistress Kammy Kaur and staff on their hard work.

As part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend opening hours for customers, the post office at Oaklands Terrace, Edlington, offers Post Office services from one traditional screened positions and two new style open-plan positions. It is now open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.

Coun Elsie Butler added: “This Post Office is vital to the Edlington community and surrounding villages. I’m sure the new improved office, and the longer opening hours, has been warmly welcomed by residents.”

Kammy said: “The refurbishment has made the post office so much more open and friendly. I was delighted to have opportunity to open the new branch with the help of valued staff member Sheila Slater, and the customer reaction has been positive. We now have a nice environment for both staff and customers alike.”
