School cook Violet White, 74, is retiring from Woodlands Primary School, South Yorkshire, after 46 years of service

A school chef has hung up her apron for the last time after cooking school dinners at a primary school for 46 years.

Violet White, aged 74, has fed generations of children during her impressive service at Woodlands Primary School, The Crescent, Woodlands.

Violet, who has even served her own children and grandchildren at the school, said: “I have really enjoyed working here and I’m sad to leave.”
