A windows manufacturer is creating new jobs after investing £280, 000 to expand its business.

Building Products Solutions based at Goldthorpe Industrial Estate was boosted by a £80,000 grant from Sheffield City Region.

The firm will use the money to extend its premises by 3500 sq ft to house a new glass plant, which will also create seven new jobs.

Ian Harrison, managing director of Building Product Solutions, said: “After a challenging few years in manufacturing we’re now experiencing an upturn in the market and this investment will ensure we’re in the perfect position to capitalise on the growing confidence.

“We’re spending substantial amounts on our workforce and new equipment with a clear growth strategy.

“The expansion paves the way for seven new members of staff – it’s an exciting time at the firm.”

The investment will see the business cut sheet glass to size and manufacture its own glazed window components in-house.

This will also enable them to deliver glass to customers quicker.

The company specialises in providing windows for new-build properties and has £7.5 million worth of jobs on its books after winning long-term contracts to supply major housing developers such as Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson, Persimmon and Redrow Homes.
