Doncaster is set for a jobs boost with the opening of a new supermarket.

The Netto UK store will create 25 jobs when it opens a 12,000 sq ft outlet at Thorne Retail Park in November.

Jo Davis, head of human resources for Netto UK, said: “We’re looking for some fantastic people to join our team and bring our Doncaster stores to life for our customers.

“There’s already a great team spirit and we have opportunities across a range of roles in stores, from till operators to team leaders.

“We’re very excited about our new offer and would encourage people to get in touch and find out more.”

The store is one of five opening across the North of England, including one in nearby Sheffield, this year as part of a trial joint venture between Danish retailer Dansk Supermarked and Sainsbury’s.

Store bosses promise to bring a ‘new, fresh Scandinavian flavour to the UK discount sector’.

An in-house bakery offering Danish breads and pastries will be offered in the new outlet.
