Doncaster Council and its main contractor Carillion have won a major regional award for the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS).

The scheme won the ‘Project of the Year over £5million’ crown at the Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards 2015, run by the Chartered Institute of Building. The FARRRS link road will speed up journey times to Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport and unlock developments along the route like the £400million iPort and the 1,200 new housing scheme on the old Rossington Colliery site. Surfacing works are underway on the three mile link from Junction 3 of the M18 which will open in 2016.
