A hangar at Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport that was used during the Second World War is set for a major upgrade to bring it back into use.

Building and civil engineering contractor, Britcon UK, has been awarded a contract by Peel Holdings (Management) Ltd to refurbish the hangar doors, which have not been used for many years to enable them to slide again.

There will also be an upgrade of the associated offices and the creation of a new car park.

Steve Gill, the airport’s managing director, said: “It will be great to see the renovation of this important space at the airport.”
