Business leaders are being encouraged to showcase any employment opportunities at a series of careers fairs this year.

The ‘Your Future’ events give firms an opportunity to promote opportunities to the next generation.

Organised by Doncaster Chamber Skills Academy, the fairs are held in schools and the Doncaster Dome throughout the academic year and are designed to help youngsters aged 14 to 24 who are preparing to enter the world of work.

More than 350 young people attended each event last year and businesses are being urged to sign up to have a stall at one or more of the fairs being held this year.

Tina Slater, Doncaster Chamber’s business and education manager, said: “The Your Future careers fairs will be a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to not only showcase their organisation, its products and services, but also to encourage young people to want to work in their industry.

“We are hoping for as many businesses as possible to gain exposure to hundreds of local young people helping to raise their aspirations and awareness of what opportunities are available.”

Participating businesses are encouraged to bring along a memorable interactive activity for those attending to gain a hands on insight into their chosen profession or industry and what it involves.
