A FORMER apprentice has been recognised for his impressive achievements after training as an electrician.

Calum Russell, 24, was named runner-up in the event to honour the best apprentices from across Yorkshire and the Humber by training charity JTL.

Now qualified, Calum, who lives in Edenthorpe, completed the four-year programme at Doncaster College with on-the-job training at Jenkinson Electrical Engineering where he now works full time.

And he recommends apprenticeships as an excellent career route for anyone keen to learn a skilled profession and earn money at the same time.
